Phase 1 Stance

Key to a good stance starts with your feet. They need to be shoulder width apart lateral and slightly staggered. Hand should be out in front distal from body with your hand bridged. Body weight leaning slightly foward and be on your toes.

Phase 2 Take Off and Hand Placement

After you are in a good stance, you can accelerate out of your stance to attack the defender. You want to take a short step with your eyes on your target. The key is to fire out Inferior to your defender, because inferior man wins the battle. Next get your hands medial right on his breast plate so that you can control the block.

Phase 3 Head and Eyes Inside

Once you get your hands medial placed on his breast plate, you want to bring your head proximal to his chest. By bring your head medial it is much harder for the defender to get off your block. Then to finish off the block run your feet to drive the defender out of the hole.
